John Lechner is an animator, designer, programmer, puppeteer and storyteller who has been with FableVision since its inception. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, he has worked in publishing and advertising, as well as educational technology.
As Art Director, John has been a key contributor to countless FableVision products, including Stationery Studio, Animation-ish, and Big Screen Books. He co-directed many of FableVision's award-winning films including The Blue Shoe, The Dot, and The North Star.
John has designed or programmed activities for various PBS Web sites including Zoom, Dragon Tales, Arthur, and Clifford the Big Red Dog, as well as original interactive games for the FableVision website. He has also pioneered development of FableVision's new forays into interactive storytelling, including FVTV and TeleFables.
John is also a children's author and illustrator, whose books include A Froggy Fable, The Clever Stick, and theSticky Burr series, all published by Candlewick Press. To learn more about John and his books, visit his own Web site.
